over boosting and limp mode

Can a over boosting turbo put the car in to limp mode until ignition is turned off. One started back up fine first one or 2 gear changes then goes to limp mode again any ideas

Ok so found the problem the plastic pipe that goes to the rubber throttle body had come away from the rubber throttle pipe. So pushed pipe back on and tightend the jubilee clip back up.

Thought I had sorted it. All was wrong next time I went back down the road popped off again. Cant see any problems it all has any one had a problem like this.

Are you talking this pipe (below) (Item 25 in the diagram I posted and taken from the link I posted)? There are also common issues with the large rubber boot (C1 in my diagram) splitting under the clamp (can't be seen until you take things apart)

Yes thats the part and it keeps letting go of item 16 in the pic. Cant see any splits or any thing like tha.

Item 16 should be bolted to the side of the engine so shouldn't be able to come away.

It is bolted to heat shield i will have a look tomorrow to see if any thing has come lose. il try a different boot to see if that sorts it

The hoses get really oily inside from the breather system, a good wash out with brake cleaner or detergent to get rid of the oil will make them less likely to pop off. And make sure you have the correct OEM style narrow clips.
