aux water pump -RS2

Guys, my aux water pump is leaking coolant. having checked it out, the leak is coming from the plastic disc shaped thing at the end of the pump (leaking from the seam). the pump is otherwise working fine.

Speaking to the ever helpful VAGparts guys, it would appear the disc bit is only avaliable bought as a complete item with the pump attached, at a cost of £68.00 plus the dreaded.

Are there any alternitives, or is it possible to but the disc sepratly or repair the leak (perhaps some high temp silicone?, JB weld type stuff?), if not, i'll bite the bullet & go for new.

Any suggestions?

I had the same thing happen tryed a bodge and didnt work. £68 is much better for peace of mind

The plastic on the pump housing is the kind that you (or anyone) can't "weld".

Get a new one. A bosch generic one from "halfords" will fit as long as it's for 19mm hoses. I have a generic one or was it listed as Transporter T4 Diesel pump... can't recall. Cost me around 70€.
