Setting 7a cam timing on dyno.

Last dyno session my car made 515whp @ 2.1 bar and E85. I have a other dyno session planned at the end of this month to do some tweaks and to see how the car is performing now.

As discussed here :http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...t=70119&page=2 my 7a cams are 0.5 tooth out when my engine is at TDC. I did not had time at the last dyno session to look at this.

Now i like to try and see if i can make more power by adjusting the cam timing on the cam pulley. But what is the best way to do this? Just set the cam wheel at the original timing mark on the cam cover and than just try whats the best setting? Or is there a better way?

I tested to retard my 7A cams by 2 degrees from orginal timings. Got slightly better spoolup, but peak power dropped 42hp. I did just try to adjust both cams from the belt pulley.

Yes. Of course, could have been different results if I had trying to mix the in- and ex cams setup separately.

Yes! I did not expect it. On the dyno its fwd yes. I removed the drive-shaft and installed a solid torsen diff.

How much adjustment of the cams was needed to get such a huge gain?

I checked your thread and found out You started with both cams about 8 degrees advanced. How was spool compered with timing then and now?
