    Projekt Kough Zyrop

So, the Alpinweiss has developed a slight misfire on WOT after 3 years of fairly trouble-free running.

I found 2 exhaust leaks last week and cured both, which seems to have removed the 561 code but the lambda is shot, so I'll need to change that out before doing anything more, as it's running very lean at idle according to vag com.

Can't find a boost leak but haven't got a proper pressure line to use.

I'm fairly sure that the problem is coil pack related, so once I solve the lambda, I'll get some coil packs in and test it out.

      Yeah.

The G28 implausable signal was a little worrying, but it had just thrown a wobbly

Mine decided to develop a bit of a misfire on the way home, so need to check it out. Could also be power output stage (POS)

I've got 2 spares that I use for trouble shooting, so I'll try them myself and can lend them out to you. When I go to newer coils, I'll have 2 for sale.

Yes. Your lambda is knackered I think, so may have caused to problems. Will know when I try another but worth knowing if you're still chasing am issue. Cheers all the same

I'm trying to piece together a working variant of most sensors as a troubleshooting tool. Got POSs, knocks, MAF, crank sensor so far...

Yeah of I could try the POS that would be great, I replaced the coil's not so long ago, but never the POS.

I have two spare POS units here if any use to try / root cause... but it sounds like those TFSI coil packs are the way to go - and they are 'sans POS' as well ;-)

Was logging the lambda and rpm channels and the lambda kept going to 1.25 on idle, so I'll swap it again and get one that's good. 2x lambda codes might hint at an issue there too

I was a bit worried by the G28 implausible signal but it turns out I have a spare to use

Plugs all looked clean and light grey, so it's running fine when not koughing.

Plan of attack is lambda, coils and 1 bar + boost leak test.

MAF was reading 22 on hot idle, so is at the upper limit of prj's test.

Will not hurt to carry a spare TFSI coil. The TFSI coils are designed to operate on less dwell & are somewhat stressed with the amount of coil saturation time that they see with the stock Motronic ECU.
There are tuners here that can modify the dwell time in the ECU, (PRJ ?). 8k miles on mine & doing OK so far even without ECU mods.

That is definitely a question for prj - if anyone can do it - he can !

Just need one more coil pack and it's conversion o'clock.

Danny @ DNA has kindly donated a lambda too , so fingers crossed it'll be sorted very soon.
