Just done the timeing belt and on starting the car the belt as slipped back and touched the cam cover and there are is some showing of the thread on the belt in places.
My question is will the belt still be ok to use or do I buy another one I know what I think I should do but would like some feedback from other members first.
I would get a new one, not worth the risk for a £20 part.
Why did it walk to the back of the pulley though? Did you forget the diamond washer on the crank nose?

Alex , how did you guess I fitted a billet crank sprocket and because the fit wasn't as snug as the one I took off. the billet one pushed on was flush with the end of the crank and when I pulled it forward a touch to fit the washer and the pulley it was loose on the crank as the Oem one when pushed on left enough room for the washer and when pulled forward a touch for the pulley wasn't as loose as the billet one and having read on here ref some Oem sprockets breaking I went with the billet one and left the washer off I could of left the Oem one on as I have the garage bill from the last guy that had the car and it was changed then and the car has only covered 20 thousand miles in the last 6 yrs and it looks fine no hairline cracks around the bolt holes. Oh and the belt is £32.66 + vat from Tps.
