    Vagcom boost pressure measurement

It is mighty irritating that Vagcom does not log the boost pressure.

It lists Absolute Pressure, but that is a measure of ambient barometric pressure only.
Not sure how that is measured, but I wonder if it somehow would be possible to ''introduce'' that pressure sensor to manifold pressure without the ECU freaking out and going into limp mode so that we could log boost vs. rpm, etc.

Email Uwe at Ross tech they will give you the answer I'm sure. They bend over backwards to help in my experience.

The ambient pressure sensor is in the LH A Pillar down near the bottom, it's a sensitive little thing designed to measure small changes in atmospheric pressure and would probably explode if you gave it either vaciuum or 1.5 Bar!

Its annoying especially as the ecu probably puts out a voltage corresponding to boost but on the S2 its not hooked up unlike the S4/S6!
Frankly unless Dmitri is gong to release his datalogging facility so we can see everything then all you could do is attempt to log that signal.

Hmm....don't S2s have any OE trip computers/digital boost gauges?

Signal from the ECU out to the digital boost gauge = ECU Pin T55/32

Also available in Connector Stn 2 of an UrS4/S6 (not sure about S2 or RS2):

They have trip computers with mpg, average mpg, trip distance, average speed etc, but unlike the urs4 no boost gauge.

I have seen with a boost gauge. TDI dash maybe...
