    S6 to RS2 spec

As you guys know I've recently fixed my S6. I always planned to RS2 spec the car so I'm not starting to gather parts for the job. I have had a new RS2 turbo for a while now and have a source for the first ECU before I can HOPEFULLY have Dmitri sort a custom map, So I could do with advice from people who have already done this. If you guys are kind enough to look over my queries its be much appreciated.

1: which EM would you go for?

2: I'm guessing the stock ic is going to struggle with more boost, which FMIC kit is recommended?

3: what effect do the RS2 cams have in the real world?

    4: which injectors are recommended?

Have I missed anything off my shopping list?

1: stock is fine for tuned RS2 power.

    2:stock intercooler is fine.

3: nothing in the real world once it's tuned, you won't gain anything.

4: stock for generic remap, so it runs properly, bigger if you want to push the RS2 Turbo to the max, about another 15hp gain, but will not run properly until its live mapped.
Not worth the hassle if you ask me, if you want more than tuned RS2 power buy a bigger turbo and some bigger injectors.

My S4 is running an RS2 turbo with 1.5 bar software and RS2 injectors using a Wagner exhaust manifold and still on stock intercooler. It seems to run well enough and is certainly quick enough! I wouldn't worry about cams as the standard ones are fine. I think many here might agree.

My ecu is actually switchable and also has the option of a 1.9 bar map, however the car doesn't seem quite so happy on this map. I think a good FMIC would be a worthwhile addition and also worth considering slightly larger injectors to make the most of the turbo. I think you could be knocking on the door of 400bhp with these mods. I also fitted uprated rods as part of a rebuild for peace of mind and future proofing.

My comments are in bold beside Driftin jo's

Go real RS2 if you can find one, or better yet one of Wagner Tuning's RS2 EVO manifolds. http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/196904.phtml

2:stock intercooler is fine. Agree. FMIC will be marginally better but with the THIN Euro C4 UrS front bumper, there isn't much room for more than a 2.5" thick core. The Apikol FMIC that I run is 3.5" thick but I have the thicker and uglier NAmerican DOT bumper. http://www.audifans.net/modules.php?...highlight=fmic

3: nothing in the real world once it's tuned, you won't gain anything. Agree. I am running an RS2 exhaust cam (RS2 intake is the same as the AAN) and, if there were any gains, it was up high, where you rarely drive.

4: stock for generic remap, so it runs properly, bigger if you want to push the RS2 Turbo to the max, about another 15hp gain, but will not run properly until its live mapped. Disagree. Stock injectors max out way before the limits of the RS2 turbo is reached. No sense in holding back. With the RS2 turbo, EM and injectors, you can easily get 350 safe and reliable crank hp. 380 is about the limit of the RS2 injectors. There are some General Motors injectors that are about the same as the RS2 injectors

Not worth the hassle if you ask me, if you want more than tuned RS2 power buy a bigger turbo and some bigger injectors. Disagree. RS2 was 315 hp stock. Can easily be taken to 350 to 380 hp with stock hardware.
In my opinion, having had my AAN "RS2'd" since 2004.

          1. RS2 or Wagner RS2 Evo EM is needed. Stock EM is no good.
          2. For road driving stock size is probably ok. (but don't some of these AANs have a plastic IC? Will it burst?)
          3. Stock cams will give you great midrange.
          4. RS2 green injectors will be fine up to 350-370BHP

If you can get a good generic chip I would, it means you can get it up and running and sort any issues before wasting a tuning session.

Probably. The UrS6 cross over tube is also plastic and will split under the higher boosts that an RS2 turbo is capable of.

For RS2 upgrades to UrS6 with no FMIC, best to find the metal cross-over tube and the all metal SMIC, both from an UrS4. *AND* replace the turbo to cross-over tube, Michelin Man and SMIC to throttle body hoses with Samco hoses.

With this in mind, am I not better off investing in an FMIC and working to get as much sir as possible over it?
034 look to do a very nice kit?

I believe that for a RS2 setup Dmitri uses Bosch Green Giants injectors. Check with him.

Can anyone recommend anywhere paticulally good value for any of these?

Also, if I went and had a nice 3" downpipe made on the car now would it have to be altered again for the 7200?
