I have a gt2871r turbo that has just had the once over at cr turbos, rs2 type manifold, 3 inch downpipe, ecu mapped to suit by Paul s2central , oil and water lines, intake hose etc. Just needs 630cc Siemens injectors, big intercooler and good flowing exhaust connected to downpipe to make over 400 bhp. More than rs2 power with at least similar spool. Can't be expensive at £1300 delivered in UK....

adamg - its head off mate. piston and rod out of top. drop them back down the bore to refit. I use an ARP ring compressor. im not into the adjustable ones.

id say rxl just rebuild it normally unless the cost difference between the billet and stock is very small. at the end of the day if you like what you have and plan to keep it then do as you see fit and most importantly want. there is no real right or wrong way. I just want the biggest bang for buck and am happy to do work myself and lucky to be able to call on friends when in need

My tuner say´s if you put 500nm under 3000 rpm you kill the engine. Rods will bend.

depends on what turbo you run to get 500nm before 3k. that's a bit of doing. I don't get boost below 3k so nowhere near that.

500nm is about 360lbsft. about the limit on stock rods. sounds like you would need a well worked engine to deliver that below 3k anyway

id like to know too. I don't think itll happen on a stock engine and fuel anyway.

There is a vast difference between a street map and a track map, you are looking for different things and are looking for a completely different curve. You can't blanket say you can't have x under x as it's poppycock

Mapping is so engine dependant and spec dependant what works for one isn't good for the other.

theres only a vast difference if the engine and fuel suit it. that's fair and I understand the differences between maps. we are not saying it cannot be done but more like how. like I say stock engine and fuel I cannot see it. I may be wrong.

I'm sure the gt2871r setup I had was close or more than 500 nm near 3k rpm on stock bottom end...

Or go all out and build a stroker and make 500 ft lb not nm at 3k rpm.

Yep, but just showing that big torque numbers can be made at low rpm if wanted but you gota spend. Rs2 type setup with modified billet kkk turbo or Volvo 7400 or gt2871r max out stock bottom ends and make a nice daily driver.

N2O, make as much power as you want, at whatever RPM, your build, (rods ) will take it.

As a starter kit, the RS2 is bolt-on, simple and enough of an upgrade to make it worth the effort plus, it has great resale value for when you want to move on. Don't forget an intercooler and turbo back exhaust in addition to the kit mentioned before. £1600 is a good price for all that
