I did the cambelt on my 3b engine along with all the other belts, what a joy that was.:wacked: The water pump on the 3b engine is the tensioner and having fitted the belt and adjusting it all up the water pump then started to leak so it had to come off and have a new seal fitted. Took me 8 hours start to finish, just glad its out the way now. . Can concentrate on more mods now.Have fun with yours Glen.
            Cheers,

            Chris

Glen, id reccomend you change the thermestat too even if yours is ok, theyre only cheap and a total nightmare to get at with everything in place.
i recently had my head off to do a head overhaul and fit rs2 turbo,
i found it easier to undo turbo to manifold bolts and take head and manifolds off as one (you'll need an assistant to help lift as it weighs a ton)
especially if your keeping stock exhaust manifold (are you?)
give all your water pipes a good check over, especially water feed to turbo,
breather pipes also, mine had turned to sludge!!

              good luck
              martin

LOL, did my h/gasket 3 months ago i took loads of pics, too many to post!!
Not too bad a job, just crap access. But change the stat, also check all the breather hoses cos they are a bitch to get at when back together.

Hope you have some serious tools to get that crankshaft pulley bolt out. It darn tight!!

                      Tourqes?

Has anyone got any spec on torque settings? I need at least the head bolts, but any more are welcome cos as a rule i generaly use torques when figures are available?

                      Thanks Guys?

                              It's coming to bits niceley!

The bumper, rad, ic, cross member, air box/intake pipes and cam belt all came off in just over an hour, but theres no way on gods given earth that it'll all go back a quick! where poss iv'e tried to put bolts back in threads after so i know where they all go but ive loads of bits that are homeless already, and thers along way to go yet? I have take some pics but for some reason they havent arrived to my inbox yet so can't show you? (taken @ work and mailed) there looks to be days work not hours! i kinda wish i haddn't started now! (It was all such a good idea in theory too! ) Is ther only 6 allen bolts holdin the cam cover on? cos if there is, it's well stuck! Any other tips and avice available now is the time guys?

Ah well lets see how it looks tomorrow?
