Does the rs2 engine block have any differences to an aby/aan block? Any distinguishing marks etc? Or are they identical to other blocks? Been offered an rs2 block just wondered if a its any different and b a way of making sure it is what it says it is?
As far as I can tell the only way of identifying an adu engine is that ot has adu stamped into the head. How come the block doesnt have engine number stamped on it?
I also have another block which has some damage to one of the bores. Its only on one cylinder and about half way up the bore there is a dent in the piston wall. Looks like the piston skirt has been eating into the bore. Measure the bore and the dent is approx 0.5mm deep.
What would cause this wear on one cylinder? And I assume the bore could be opened out by 1mm or so to get rid of the wear and then use oversize pistons. What size are oversize pistons and what cc do they give.
Other option is to sleeve the block and re use the pistons if they are ok. This would certainly be cheaper. And stock pistons are fine for more power. How much material is removed and what thickness are the sleeves? Is it advisable just to sleeve one or two cylinders or do you do them all?
What are the maximum bore wear tolerances to use stock pistons?
I have a very good totally crack free head which is a bonus! Just deciding what to do with this damaged block.
Many thanks
