    00544 boost pressure exceeded.

Pulled the codes on my rs2 speck 3b s2, and got the fault code 00544 maximum boost pressure exceeded. Which is what I expected as it cuts once boost reaches 1.2plus.
I have done a boost leak test Blocking of the pcv and the wastegate hose. I found a leak on the new silicon hose I fitted to the ISV. Fixed that, and retested ,Using my sons much younger ears, and some soapy water. There are no leaks. Took the car for a drive ,and the same
I then changed the dump valve, and it is still the same.
What else would cause the boost cut.

I have been chasing a similar issue recently but it is intermittent. Bearing in mind I have catchtank setup for PCV and venting to atmosphere. I recently did a boost leak test from 20psi - 0psi. With the wastegate hose clamped it took 47seconds to leak down and without it clamped it leak down in 22 seconds.

Andy10v did similar test with same figures and got slightly better results that me. Worth a comparison I think. Also check that the WG diaphragm isn't damaged.

Thank you for your comments. I do not have a catch. The engine, and turbo where rebuilt. Plus the pcv plumbing was checked out ,with new valves fitted. In saying that I did not do a leak test on the pcv. I did do a suck test on the three tubes on the back of the inlet. The one to the DV held pressure, And the other one, which I think goes to the FPR, also held pressure. The other one goes to valve Which broke. One went to the carbon canister ,I think, and the other went to the green hard line which goes to the ecu. I blocked of the one to the carbon canister, until I can replace The valve.

Is it boost cut or fuel cut? How much pressure did you put in? How long did it take to drop to 0?

I had this with a split crankcase breather On my 3b. Also humanjoist has this on his aby and I traced it to n75 which would not respond on output tests. I traced it to a duff connection to oil pressure sender that section of loom meets on a connection at bulkhead. Some cleaning and it was flying. So test n75 in output tests

Done the maf test, and cleaned it John. Dimitri. As soon as I plant my foot and the boost reaches over 1.4 it chucks you through the windscreen. So I am assuming its a boost cut. Not sure how to tell if its a boost cut, or fuel cut. I tested it by plugging the
pcv and the hose to the waste gate, and it held pressure really well once I fixed the leak under the isv. It was tested with 2bar of pressureCould this be caused by the n75. I will try to find time to test the pcv today. The thing that concerns me is the fact that the vac line to the ecu holds boost according to the gauge, but it wont hold vaccum.I will also try an output test
              Many Thanks for the advise.

That's a fuel cut then, not a boost cut. A boost cut feels like someone softly let off the throttle. A fuel cut feels like a violent jerk.

This is caused by the MAF readings being higher than expected by the software. This means usually either a boost leak (which you ruled out), the MAF or the MAF connector.
