You can kill a totally stock engine with a stock turbo really easily with a bad tune.
How much torque can hold stock engine

These were my thoughts also. It's each and every bodies own responsibility to make sure they obtain the right tune something that is easily obtained with a tuner like PRJ. So after that other thread was inserted by espenW (thanks) into this one about Bart's question to the same effect as ours then it would be a safe option to use the Volvo turbo with a responsible tuner who knows what he is doing.
Marko and Janis......full speed ahead chaps IMHO.

before few years age I kill my 3B engine (fully rebuilt without H rods) on stock turbo and without any chip or something else !
my story is even worse because I drive nicely in the town only 80km/h in 3. gear !
other people who had the same issue drive faster , with chiped or upgraded engines..
there is no sign before disaster.. there is no pervention.. stock engine is Russian rullet with full loaded 5 bullet revolver !Comment

In fact it is so. With the suspect of ignition failure.
Anyway, who cares: now I have learned to make custom chiptunig telling the tuner what I like and which parts I fix.
Also, after finding a buyer (he knew about the rod masterpiece but wanted the car anyway because he understood it), I slept one night and told him "keep your money, I'll keep the car".

Plus: make sure that you have the correct distributor rotor. Audi will often sell you the wrong one, and that one (wide tipped) will make the spark hop more likely.
What happens is that the electrical resistance within the cylinder becomes so high (from boost and compression) that there is less resistance within the distributor cap. Electric charge will pick the path of least resistance, so instead of the plug firing a few degrees before TDC, the spark hops inside the distributor and fires off another cylinder instead, since that cylinder has less resistance right then. When that cylinder is well before TDC, the piston meets the maximum pressure of the expanding gas while still travelling up the cylinder, causing a rod bending net force, instead of that force pushing it down the bore after TDC as it should have.
The wrong, wide tipped rotor makes that scenario much more likely.
The coil on plug systems of the ABY and ADU engines don't face this problem.1995 RS2 on Alcohol (6.8sec 100-200km/h)

yes my friend .. you recognize my problem at 10000% .. axactly this hapend on my engine.. wide rottor arm
after that I fix the engine with H-rods , swap the wires on ECU from 3B to AAN , and new TFSI coils .. everithing was perfect and I drive with them for a long time without any problem...
