Was wondering if anyone could comment on an issue i'm having with my ABY.
It started to run rough, and felt like it had a misfire. Strangely it made the car sound a bit like a Subaru Impreza - presumably because of the apparent misfire. I limped it home - and noted that it wasn't wanting to accelerate very well at all. Also the engine seemed hotter than normal when I parked it up, and considering I carefully drove it home.
A few days later I had the chance to pull the fault codes, and had the following:
00516 - Idle speed switch
00537 - Lambda sensor control
01250 - Injector Cyl 2
01251 - Injector Cyl 3
01252 - Injector Cyl 4
01253 - Injector Cyl 5
I then cleared these codes, then started the car and the engine appeared fine. I took it out for a run to replicate the apparent "misfire fault" and see what the fault codes were at that point.
After around 10 miles it started the apparent misfire again. The only code I got from the car after this second time the misfire presented was 00537 - Lambda Regulation 08-10 Control Limit Surpassed - intermittent.
I note that the code 00537 can be due to several things such as:
-Fuel tank empty at least 10 litres
-Fuel system pressure too low
-Failure of spark plugs, ignition coils
and ignition output stages
-Ingress of air to G70
-Leak in exhaust system up to catalyst
-Faulty lambda probe
-Fuel system pressure too high
My first question is do the earlier codes and symptoms described give more of a clue as to what the problem might be?
I was thinking of disconnecting the Lambda, and then seeing if the fault returns or not. Does that seem sensible?
My logic being if its a faulty Lambda then I wont get the Misfire back, as the car will be on factory settings. If the fault comes back, then I continue to look for other causes.
Any comments welcome.
