    Project idea

I have an idea for my Ur quattro, By making more power by using a block for a audi a6 c4 2.5 tdi and using a 20v head from a 3b engine, would that work or not?

Cause i wanna fix up the car in the summer time and have ideas of what to do to it.

    cheers.

In the last years of Urq production, Audi installed the "RR" engine which basically the same as the 3B that was in the first years of S2 coupe production (remember that there is an overlap). The use of 2.5L AEL C4 Tdi or Eurovan diesel engine is a common way to get a stroker engine for people with 3Bs, AANs, ABYs or ADUs so yes it will work.

Problem areas that you will need to address include the intake and exhaust systems, the radiator situation, ignition system (you would be better off to use an AAN or ABY head so you can use the five coil ignition system), and of course the ECU (3B or RR ECU for the 3B head or AAN and ABY ECU for the AAN/ABY head).

You better have a good budget available to sort all those.

      Good luck

Couldn't i use the AEL? i got a AEL block and i have a 3b engine, but isn't the AEL better than the AAN? or is that the AAT one of the two haha

You can use either the AEL or AAT, search for stroker conversion, there's a few project threads including mine.

Gosh those stroker engines look like a lot of fun. How much more fun would one be in an old 80 cabriolet, I wonder...

the coupe is floppy enough with a roof on it. a cab aint gonna be any better. in fact a lot worse. stick with a cruising engine in a cab imo

You think they are not? I've had 4 of them and even on OEM wheels and suspension setup it is floppy on uneven roads.

                              I think I'm a little disappointed that they're floppy.

                              Cue the innuendo...
