    Project E85 complete

well finally my E85 project is complete on my ABY S2.

I will list the progress to date:

    Stock engine
    7a cams (intake and exhaust)
    Wagner Reverse Intake
    Wagner Intercooler
    Wagner Evo Exhaust Manifold
    GT3071 0.63
    Bosch 1600cc injectors
Bosch 044 in tank fuel pump
    E85 fuel
    EMS standalone ECU
    Innovative SCG-1 boost controller
    FSI Coil conversion
Converted to run a dizzy purely for the hall sender and cranking but not for spark (easier to tune for EMS)

    Result:
    295kw atw @ 6500
    520nm atw @ 4000
    25psi

Im very happy with the result as the power curve is very linear and keeps pulling all the way to redline so i reckon it has a little more in it if i bump up the boost to say 30psi. But for now i will run for a while at 25psi to see how she goes

However on purpose i have had it tuned so the boost onset isnt too early down low so not to bend rods.
So at the moment full boost isnt until 4000ish which makes it a bit of a lag monster, however im scared to have it come much earlier than that at least not until i go next step and do internal upgrades

What are peoples thoughts on earlier boost onset for stock internals or more so the above amount of torque but at say 3500?

What fuel pump system are you running?

As long as torque doesn't build too much you should be able to run a more aggressive map

so similarly if the torque doesnt build to more than say 500nm too early (i.e 3000-3500) i should be safe with my stock rods for now?

i know there have been quite a few different opinions on what the stock rods can hold torque wise... and im well aware of what a bad tune can do to rods also...

but im very confident in the guy who does my tuning, so that wont be a factor, it is only how much torque before im forced to open her up....

The rule of thumb I've always seen is stick to less than 600nm on stock rods

              Cheers Greg...

600nm is a really good healthy number for the street..

if i can achieve around that amount of torque id be happy
