Hi guys.
sorry for posting this as it was discussed before, but really, nobody has answered it for sure.
So my 3b pot is taking a crap on me. But details in the end of the post.
So once and for all, are those two compatible or not? I guess nobody will use 3b pot for newer application as 3b is quite rare, but will 3b be 100% happy with with aan pot?
Info and keywords for search:
vag 034133154f / 034 133 154 F bosch 0280120410 / 0 280 120 410 for engines 3b and RR.
VAG 078133154 / 078 133 154 bosch 0280120431 / 0 280 120 431 bosch new replacement F026T03075 / F 026 T03 075 for following 2,2 20vT's: aby, aan, adu, 2,6 12v: ABC, ACZ 2.8 12v: AAH, 2.4 12v: afm, v8: abz, abm, agh, ahc, akg, aew, akj ahk, akh
Can i use it in 3b application? It was discussed so often before, and most of the post say that it should work. Any hands on experience? Stock motronic.
Here are details of mine, resistances do not matter really, as it is a simple voltage divider here. Voltages in mine are as follows:
At idle, engine off, the pot only gets 4.7V, with engine running it gets all 5.00V
So measurements are taken of ign on, no engine running:
idle: 0.217V pedal to the metal: 4.67V
Another test when gnd is taken of exhaust pipe instead of GND pin on pot:
0.265v - 4.71V
yes i know i may have grounding issue but that will be sorted later.
The reason i am changing my pot is that i get a misfire at low loads, exactly at 5-10% of throttle. Never at moderate/full loads. This is where you keep the car running at constant speed, which is logical that the car has spent most of throttle position there.
It is a harsh bang every 10 minutes on average when it is hot outside (30+C)
When it is less than 10C, i hardly have this happen at all. I do not get pot code though. Problem is quite random ant can not be replicated on purpose, but it definitely happens at the same throttle position.
