Mark for me every time. Straightest man you'll meet. The negatives that you will read is that he doesn't map the boost map and prefers manual boost control. If you ask him he will map the N75 he just doesn't think them reliable enough for his customers.

One of the nicest guys I've met.

      Darren.

My old S2 came with an Automark map, the car wouldn't run correctly.

Took the car for diagnostic and the chips were not written correctly and failed checksum which was one of the issues as well as being stock RS2 ignition when it supposed to have been custom mapped.

Had to have the chipset removed and replaced with the correct custom one and one that controlled the N75.

Only met the guy once, for a tuner he's one of the nicer guys in person but being a nice person doesn't mean it's good work, infact some less than personable people do better work.

The bullshine I see that the N75 isn't up to the job, the only advantage is the silly reduced boost on part throttle of the stock ecu and only full boost with WOT. I'm sure people have got around that by now. I have no idea my S2 knowledge has dwindled.

Pay your money takes your choice.

S2 map runs spring until nearly full throttle but the RS2 chips I've tried run much more part throttle boost. The TS Tuning chips that are common generic upgrades now run a very aggressive part throttle map and the prj chips that I now have are quite linear.

Jamo, it sounds like your secondhand experience wasn't ideal but am I right in remembering that there were a few things with that car that weren't as described when you bought it? Are there other instances of issues that you can identify?

N75 can be mapped around, as even the stock 0.4 Bar spring is boost assisted, so without that assistance, you can get over 2 bar (as any RS2 proves). The N75/WG system is fail UNsafe, as boost opens the WG, not closes it

As I see the risk of live mapping as being too great in today's speed obsessed world, unless prj could map on a RR, I'd have to consider Mark or Danny (VEMS) as an alternative. MRC do still do S2s (dobbin recently) but I've heard prices that approach those of custom ECUs. Maxx ECU is interesting but I'm not sure of UK tuners for it and I'm sure there are more (sure Terryb's had most - tatech?). The more off-piste you go, the further afield you have to look - I am reminded of Yogi's experience with his 90q... Nowt wrong wih custom, as long as there are a few trusted peeps you can use.

There a few mechanical issues but the car was taken to MRC who sorted them all initially after i bought it. for a year it was fine until the headgasket went and then I went stroker............ crazy idea never do that again

I've met a few people who have said they can remap the Motronic, the most interesting chap being in Blackpool.
I spoke to Motorsports development in Blackpool quite a lot about live mapping my URS4.
They went in to great detail (far beyond what I knew), and I have no doubt the could map it, however the quality is just a complete unknown (same for any tuner not familiar with the cars).
Due to that I changed my Albert K26 to an RS2 and a PRJ map.

Wether it was the correct choice to compromise on a turbo for a known suitable map who knows.
