Stock RS2 : 'Safe' power limits

If it's a stock RS2 setup and you're just fitting a chip, then you can source the TS Tuning chips easily enough and get them fitted. Uses the stock RS2 ECU and just needs chip sockets fitting to the boards. I ran these for a few years and while not as safe as PRJ's chips, they are available and pretty savage too. -

I'm aiming for 420-450bhp eventually. Not much point in any more than that on roads in southern England. Above 450bhp and it seems to get a bit expensive. The law of diminishing returns starts to kick in.Leave a comment:

Thanks, I've tried getting a hold of PJR but he's not responding to me (many months ago he helped with the car and offered to source an ECU which was great. I was keen but he got busy and never managed to get it to me. I tried chasing up but haven't heard anything since even after a few PMs. I've heard he's a busy man though. )Leave a comment:

Covered lots of times but to summarise - it's the torque and timing that kill stock engines.
Aftermarket chips peak at 1.7-1.9bar around 4k and drop to 1.4-1.6 bar top end.
Why don't you just get some prj or spink chips?Leave a comment:

Stock RS2 : 'Safe' power limits
Hiya, I'm looking at getting a new ECU installed into my RS2 and dyno tuned.
Anyone have opinions on the 'safe' but upper limit BHP , Torque and boost figures I should be aiming for (or staying clear of!).
I'm keen to get a bit more than stock out of it but also don't want to destroy the thing.
- The car is stock as far as I know
- I don't plan on taking it on the track
- Only the occasional burst \ WOT here and there
- Daily driver
I know the more power I throw at the car the shorter the components lives will be but I've heard that they are pretty well built and over engineered?
Thanks!
