Engine undertray contradiction on Audi Trad and VagCat

    OK so here's the thing.

I got an RS2 undertray that looks like this:

If I look up the part number on VagCat I get this:

    Spot the difference?

The only reason I'm posting this is because Audi provided parts numbers for the fixing kit and the bracket matches the undertray on VagCat, not the tray I've purchased from Audi Tradition. I can't find the bracket on Audi Tradition BTW.

    The fixing kit parts are:

    4A0805163 clip
    4A0805121A grip pin
    4A0805137A retaining washer
    4A0805121B grip pin
    4A0805137B plastic washer
    171201969 hexagon collar nut
    4A0805137 rubber washer
    8A0863843 bracket - noise insulation
    4A0805960 speed nut
    N01021533 hexagon bolt
    N0115477 washer
    N90168604 speed nut

Can anyone advise what the right bracket is...? And whether there are any parts missing from the list above?

Audi uses a lot of the same pictures, when they set up ETKA. So you can't always go by the pictures. I don't have an RS2, so can't help with the rest.

I understand, the part ordered from Audi Tradition is consistent with other sources for the same part number. So I can only assume that the Audi main dealer was using the same source as VagCat and it isn't correct.

I believe this is the correct one for an RS2

Do you mean the engine tray?

My RS2 has its original under tray and looks like your photo. As said above, sometime the exploded diagrams use maybe a prototype drawing or a generic one and change the numbers.

You can't go by the sketch, only the PN. PN should be 8A0863823Q, which is exclusive to the RS2, no other models (hence no separate special sketch - too much work).

I think he's saying that the undertray fron Audi Trad is right but the bracket supplied by Audi dealer is not?

                Which part is the bracket?

Bracket is Item 18 8A0863843 which covers the B3 and B4 coupes, sedans, avants and cabriolets and the RS2s.

The bracket I have is the right part number but doesn't fit the undertray, which is also the right part number.

You laugh. Just try asking my good friend Kate about "engine tray" and she will give you a blank "WTF are you talking about" stare. If you just ask her about a "tray", she will return with one thing, the oil drip tray, PN 01E301276, part of our 01E transmissions.

That under tray pictured does not look right for an rs2
