More often than not firing a barrage of links into a thread doesn't help at all. The information is already available on the forum, you've probably linked to it dozens of times. Understanding the information and knowing how to use it is often what people want help with

Unlikely.
Apparently people don't want to actually learn anything by reading info anymore. They just want Siri (or whatever) to feed them, no thinking Please!!

Contrary to what's been said on here, I do read and followed the links as suggested. I have just been out to the car to go over again what i did so far, and the car started when the wife turned it over. So what i'm thinking now is i have a small dent on the back of the camshaft sprocket where my son did not use the cam tool when he tightened it up he used a bar and BECAUSE I DO READ THE LINKS PROVIDED BY MEMBERS ON HERE have determined that the car will run and stop due to the dent, so a new cam sprocket is needed i think.
Thanks for all the adviceComment

Good to know. I was certainly doubting that.Contrary to what's been said on here, I do read and followed the links as suggested. From the G40 cam sensor link I provided:
"One final note: When you are playing with your cams or cam sprocket, use a proper tool to hold the cam sprocket when you remove the bolt in the center of the sprocket. DO NOT jamb a big screwdriver through one of the big holes to hold the sprocket. This can damage (bend) the shutter wheel, causing strange running and intermittent engine stopping issues until the cam sprocket was pulled to reveal this bend:

Yep....
Hell no.
Heres your bosch hall effect sensor that can only take 5V
Supply Voltage
4.5V~24V
Supply Current
≤9mA
Output Saturation Voltage(Sinking 20mA)
≤0.4V
Output Leakage Current
≤10uA
Output Rise Time
≤2uS
Output Fall Time
≤2uS
Output type

Personally I was more concerned with the ecu than the sensor! Not sure what voltage protection it has in that respect.
There could have been more than one problem that could cause that code so a precautionary wiring check was not a bad idea.Comment

and i do have a proper camshaft holding tool but it seems my son in his eagerness to help while i was out didn't use it
anyway i need to source a new sprocket.
