Thanks Newsh. Now, the sensor you linked to, is this the specific sensor i need or is it a universal sensor i might be able to source from any auto parts store? -
Yes, i saw that mark. But no mark on the cover plate with the Windows. Im guessing that the center of the rotor arm must be in line with the mark on the housing instead. I am really struggeling to find what hall sensor i need. What part nr, and where i can get it...Leave a comment:

So, i will get a replacement hall sender. I have the skills to change it, now does anyone know if the hall sender for my ACE is something special or is it the same as any other VAG hall sender?
Thanks ever so much for the help all of you. I really appreciate it. And a special thanks to UrS4Boy. What would this forum be without you? All the time and effort you put in helping us "novices" is priceless!Leave a comment:

I reckon he's right. Tthe one that always appears on the s2 with engine off is the engine speed sensor.
The mark on the hall window plate is usually about in line with the cutout for locating the rotor.Leave a comment:

Replacement of the Hall Sender on a 7A, 3B, early AAN and some VW product distribut
Nope. It failed and left a code in the ECU. Now that it failed, it won't restart. You need a new distributor or the skills to follow/interpret this DIY for your ACE application:

Sorry for bad pic, but there are not any marks on the side of the hall cover either.Leave a comment:

Checked faultcodes, got G40 hallsender.. But would i not get that anyway if the engine isn't running? Checked dizzy making with everything else lined up, couldnt see anything so pulled it off. Why am i the only person on the planet that does not have a marking on the hall sensor window plate?Attached FilesLeave a comment:
