Is it possible to determine if there is a fault with the wastegate's membrane without taking it apart ?
If the small nuts on the top the waste gate are taken off and the 'lid' taken off, presumably the membrane can then be taken off and examined ?
When the membrane is examined in one's hand, what faults are the 'normal' faults that the membrane suffers from ?
If the membrane is faulty, what will be the nature of the symptoms that might alert a driver to such issues with the membrane ?
Sorry if these questions sound 'simple', but I haven't yet BTDT, and wanted not to make any needless mistakes.
Also and lastly, sorry if this has been covered before.
Thanks.
