After run pump- Genuine or fake?

    Hi Guys,

I'm needing to order an after run pump and wondering if these are real or fake-

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-VW-VO...0AAOSwe7BWwLOu

Seem fairly priced if they are genuine.

Alternatively, if someone has one then want to sell drop me a line.

    Cheers

That's got to be a knock off, surely? I'm sure when I bought a new one from QC a year or so ago it was something like £120!?

I bougt a Bosch pump cheaper than that locally few years back. Genuine item. Those basic universal pumps just are cheap.

But if you look for a Bosch pump with Audi part number, then I think you have to pay three digit numbers.

Yeh they do seem rather cheap alright, however for what they are, a low pressure water pump just not sure if they warrant a £100 plus price tag. Thuppa is your pump still operating ok with no leaks etc several years later?

I'm tempted to have a punt on one at this price, if it was a fuel pump i would be making sure it was the genuine article but for a water pump to replace the copper pipe i have at the moment i'm thinking it might be ok.

            Hmmmm?.....

I have bought some cheap things in the past, and not always they turn out to be bad quality. It must come with years warranty, I'd personally go for cheapo version

Looks completely different to this genuine looking one:
                http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-AUDI-R...EAAOSwmmxW2AOa

I doubt the cheap one is long enough to fit into both rubber mountings, something could probably be bodged up though!

The genuine ones have yellow passivate on the plated parts.

The shorter ones do indeed need the mounting rubber moved slightly but since the inlet manifold is off at the moment access is, well...... an improvement!!!!

Ordered a second hand one from a Vauxhall Omega with part number Bosch 0-392-020-034, has GM and Bosch stampings on it also so certainly looks genuine. No yellow passivate either but was only £30 so we'll see how it works. Got to better than copper pipe!!

Little tip here... The vw t4 transporter after run pumps are the same as on our S2s...

I almost bought one from breakers yard but the coolant pump on the T4 they had was a different part number with the wrong electrical connection. Not sure if it was a transporter, not too clued up on VW's. Cheers for info though.
