    broken hose

    hi guys,
this is my broken block to heater coolant hose:

    IMG_3799.jpg

this photo is of a standard 3B metal hose joiner, that is circa 22mm:
    IMG_1275.jpg

in my engine there is a plastic one that measures 25,4mm. my engine is aan.
someone in the past has joined the hose that is for 22mm in the 25mm and now the hose is broken.
the item is no longer available at the dealer..
what do you suggest? silicon? which?

    thanks to all

That is called the flange adapter. PN is 034121143E and it was used on later 3Bs, AANs, ABYs and ADUs. They are all plastic. I think the metal ones as in your photo are PN 034121143 were typically found on an 10V Audi engine from the late 1970s' to the 1990s.

New metal one (but it's NLA):

Which hose here do you think you need (note the location of the blue climate control temp sensor in the "T" between the coolant flange and the heater matrix:

7A and 3B used the metal adapter. AAN, ABY & ADU had the larger & inferior plastic one that breaks.

do you know if there are differences between RHD and LHD? 3B roose ancillary kit is for RHD?
because in this image there isn't a hose like mine (the second image in my first post)

in aan engine the layout of heater core is different than 3b i think.

Not saying that you are wrong but the information that I checked yesterday has a breakpoint for the 3Bs between the PN 034121143 metal adapters to VIN NA005118 then followed by the PN 034121143E plastic adapters from VIN NA005119 and later.

The PN that you think you have appears to be wrong. Would more likely to be 893819371N but could be 8A0819371D or 8A9819371M depending on the VIN of your 3B S2.

                  Google search on 893819371N: https://www.google.ca/search?q=89381...DcO-jwPjhb-IAg

                  Good luck.

yes you are right is 893819371N. my mistake.

in your opinion maybe that 8A0819371D and 8A9819371M may have different diameter for different flange adapter?

If I was to guess, I would think that, based on the VIN changes, the 8A0819371M was made for the 25 mm outlet of the later OE plastic flange adapter.
