ABY and RS2 Turbo hose size

Hi Guys I will be removing the turbo from my ABY and replacing it with an RS2 Turbocharger can anybody advise if the cold side in and out connections need to be changed to suit the RS2 Turbo. Are the connections any bigger???

I am running with the standard ABY air filter system and piping and I have installed an RS2 intercooler.

All existing ABY piping looks good and the car is presently running very good.

    Everything will fit ok.
The stock exhaust manifold will limit power.

Yes, everything will be a straight fit.

However, as John says above the stock ABY exhaust manifold is not optimal for an RS2 turbo.

Agree. The ABY (same as 3B and AAN) exhaust manifold will a) choke the performance potential of the RS2 turbo and b) potentially cause a build up of heat on cylinders 1 and 5 (because of the runner design) that can lead to burnt exhaust valves on those cylinders.

Here are some OE AAN (and ABY) EM flow numbers courtesy of 034

The RS2 Exhaust manifold is much flatter and eliminates the two separate runners from Cylinders 1 and 5. This is a serious upgrade from the OE AAN exhaust manifold.

Sorry guys I may not have explained myself very well I am also changing the manifold to the Wagner EVO group buy presently on the go.

I am also doing the following which I have already purchased, Bosch 440cc injectors, R8 coil packs, replaced ECU upgraded software (Prj) to about 380hp, 3" DP and exhaust system.

Already done RS2 Intercooler and Bosch 044 pump upgrade.

My concern was just the RS2 Turbocharger cold side connection being the same as the ABY, I do not feel like stripping everything and finding they are the wrong size.

Yes, that should all work very well together...you'll be quite shocked by how fast the car is.
