2005 AUDI A6 2.5TDI ALLROAD Non starter! HELP!

    Hello everyone.

A6 has decided to give up the ghost. Initially was a b!tch to start, now wont start at all.

Fuel pump under rear seat has been replaced.

I'm thinking its the injection pump at fault?

Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction of supply/fit repair/replacement of the injection pump/coding

I'm based in the west midlands.

    thanks in advance.

Possibly an air lock... had this on mine before. The pump in the tank is just a lift pump to bring fuel to the head of the high pressure pump in the engine. You can use a MityVac to bring fuel to the filter and make sure filter is primed.

I ended up putting a pair of fuel stop relays on the feed and return lines to stop fuel leaking away from the main pump when shutdown... Its pretty normal when those crappy return pipes get to breathe... the fuel runs away from the pump and you end up with an air lock.

If the main pump is locked you can crack open a few of the injector lines to help the pump purge air from system - BTDT - it also verifies the pump is pumping but is messy as diesel pisses all over engine etc

Have you got a diagnostic tool? Needle in a haystack otherwise.

If you have post back with the fault codes.

Doubt that is root cause but absolutely good idea to check them... 5 of my 6 were dead when they were checked a few years back.
