  • K-Jetronic -engine will not start

Hi guys, need some advise with the old Bosch system in Coupe 2.0 16V.
Car was not running for years,it didn't have a spark and fuel pump wasn't working.I have got spark and fuel going to the fuel distributor but no fuel going to injectors pipes .Looks like distributor is the fault but maybe I'm missing something ,any help Will be appreciated .image.jpg

No,I didn't .Just to add some details ,pump wasn't working at all, when I removed it from the tank ,I tapped it few times and it started to run again spitting lots of dirty (almost black) fuel. Now when I loose the bolt feeding Distributor with fuel it looks like its creating good pressure but I don't know if it is enough ?

What is the engine code ?
I can look up what pressures should be... K-Jetronic is a mad & wonderful thing - my first Audi and fuel injected car was K-Jetronic - I was baffled for ages with that before I took an interest in learning about such things.

Engine code is ACE.I was thinking to try my old ABY pump but I think Jetronic system pump different. My first Audi with KV engine did have this system and not many people want to deal with it .

The ACE engine uses KE -Motronic, not K-Jet.

Does the metering head plate move freely?

Correct - will try to dig out some basic diagnostics though - supposed to be a good engine.

Sorry my bad -KE Motronic .Yes,metering plate moving free and the needle in the middle of fuel distributor moving as well.Fuel goes all the way to the distributor but nothing from the four injectors pipes.

Guys in Latvia usually just swap the fuel distributor from another car. No one troubleshoots...

Looks like this might be the reason for fuel not going to the injectors .
