Anyone have experience with reading chips and and put the BIN file into a program for reading the info ?
Got lot of different chips , would be nice to learn what more to do then only read/copy them .
If you just want to read them Winols demo will let you do that, but you cant edit/save changes.
Tuner Pro will work.
You can also use free hex programmes to compare 2 bins quickly to find sections that are different.
Understanding what everything is and does is much more difficult.
There is info in the thread above, also on nefmoto, ecu connections, chip-tuner etc. It is worth google searching for combinations of aan, adu, 3b, audi, motronic, motronic 2.3.2, bin, xdf, prj, motronic etc
You can compare binaries in TunerPro too. And if you have XDF definitions for the binary (or tables defined with example prj's tool) you can search differencies (only) in defined sections. You can also compare at the table or graph view.
But really, it's much quicker to do a disassembly for the bin and really see what's doing what. Master one bin from one era, you can easily spot same things from other similar bins. Check the thread irishs2 pointed out and feel free to chat with us.
