Diverter Valve silicone hose jubillee clip?

    Evening Guys,

In the quest to get 1.9 bar from my RS2 setup i am going over everything in my head trying to figure out what could be causing the missing 0.2 bar.

I i have ordered new Knock sensors which should arrive shortly, however in the mean time i'm thinking of other things i could try.

I've just thought that the small hose to my diverter valve is of the ebay silicone type. I had no issues running the normal homefry at 1.5 bar with no jubilee clip holding it in place but wondering with the pressure up slightly to around 1.7 bar is this hose leaking when under pressure? It slips on and off the nipple without too much hassle so wondering could this be loosing pressure when under WOT allowing the DV to open slightly? Perhaps it would pop off the nipple if not tight enough but maybe not.

Does this sound feasible? Or is it common enough to have these hoses fitted without a jubilee clip?

    Cheers

You mean the vacuum hose on the TBV?

Doesn't need a clip and won't cause your lack of boost. (IMHO)

The vacuum/boost hose on the DV goes straight into the back of the inlet manifold. At least i think it does if memory serves well. Not at home to double check the now.

Actually forget this question, for some reason i keep thinking the DV is mounted the opposite way round. A long day yesterday!! Oh well back to hoping my new knock sensors have a positive effect on my boost issues!!

The back of the idle stableisation valve can leak.
You can seal it with epoxy.

Can't say i heard a leak coming from there when pressurising the intake system but shall pay special attention when i do the next one. I'll get in about it with soapy water to see if that shows anything. Surely to be loosing 0.2 bar a leak would be obvious?

What pressure are you leak testing at?

I have leaks I could only find at 20+psi, below that they appeared to seal up and were silent. I ended up deciding to leak test at whatever boost pressure I wanted to run, as at least I knew everything would hold. Soapy water helps chase down. If you are worried about the small hose you can fit a small clip (or a zip tie)

I dont know if its recommended, and if a bung does come it it goes it a bang, and fast enough to dent metal!
