I've not had an S2 for a long time, but still occasionaly lurk on here as I'm still interested.

Noel, I think you would be nuts to consider owning an S2 at this moment in time. They are fantastic when everything working, but I think owning one these days would either drive you crazy or bankrupt, or both Your CQ seems to be a good compromise..

how old is the lambda sensor? could it be needing changed?

Good point Mike. Might be 26 years old, like the rest of the car. I'll need to dig out the service history and see if I can see "le sensor de lambda" in there

I'll start with the fuel filter and fuel pump, then move on if the issue is still there. I'll definitely change the lambda sensor as a matter of course if I think it needs doing.

haha. it's all good mate. Doesn't matter. But yeah I see your point. Imagining the joy of driving an S2 compared to the reality of spending a lot of time shout and swearing is something to think about. I've already spent a lot of time and a small fortune on the CQ just getting it into reasonable shape. Maybe I should keep it and just change the A4 for an RS6? That'd be the sensible thing to do eh?
