Gary's site has some nice pictures.. http://www.unicomsystems.co.uk

You'll need to unsolder the exsiting chips and install sockets for the new ones..

Thank you, but i am a little dummy... in that site they don't say what chips are the boost and the fuel chip, or say???

Maybe i need to cancel the swap this weekend

The 27C512 chip is fuel/timing and goes on the TOP board
The 87C257 chip is boost and goes on the bottom

Yup, the fuel chip is the one on the top board, the boost chip is on the bottom board, where the MAP sensor is located as well...

From the man himself when I asked boost is B is bottom Fuel is F is top I hope

Thank you all, the Mihnea's chip are installed... Now I need to tune the wastegate because the car only do 1,2 bar... dont know how much is the peak of boost!

              Bruno,

My S4 runs Mihnea's chipset, peak boost is around 1.4-1.5 bar.

Have you made sure you don't have any other problems? Before you play with the wastegate. Something else may be causing the lack of boost.

no, i just will make the wastegate do 0,4bar without WGFV, and after i will see whats up...

I think the lambda its doing bad readings, we connected it to the machine, and it draw a flat line, i think the lambda have to do a wave...

Yes, Mihnea told me that the overboost will be 1,45 (if everything alrigth)... but we forgot to tell me what is the average boost after the over... 1,2???

                    Bruno,

I had to give the wastegate spring 2 turns in and replace my very old DV for a new S3 one, both were under advice from Mihnea as it was only giving around 1.2 bar peak boost but it was very consistent. Once those were fixed, full 1.4-1.5 bar was available. I think the wastegate adjustment was just incase I had a weak spring, I'm sure it was the S3 DV that gave me full boost as per Mihnea's chip spec.

I wouldn't adjust anything without making sure you don't have any other problems first.
Also, Mihnea should be the ONLY person to give advice on wastegate settings, etc for use with his chips.

                    Graeme.

Thanks Graeme... I had pm Mihnea but he didnt replied me!
I see now that your "sleeper" avant is doing good boost hope mine too soon

                      Another question:
I have a Atmo DV, i asked to tunner about this kind of DV in my engine, and told him about of i read in this forum, that atmo dont work fine... And he said that in 1,8T or new ones ok, but in 2,2T works fine without swap the maf of place... I need a good argument to show him!

The S3 DV is the one, P/N 06A 145 710N. It only costs about £17 from the stealer, and rarely fails.

Because air that the air mass meter has accounted for escapes through an atmospheric DV. It's a bit like having a boost leak.

ok, let me see if i undestood...

When i release the throttle pedal, the throttle body close (dont let more air enter on IM) and the DV open to dont let the air escape by the turbo, this make the turbo spin always in the same way....

But, when the DV open and throw air to the turbo (in the correct way), the air pass again in the turbo and arrive to the TBody that is closed until i floor the pedal again....

And if the Throttle body is closed, what is the diference if the air goes outside or inside???? the air dont pass in the TBody if the pedal is released isn't it?? And everything happen after MAS... so, how MAS measure that air??

Sorry my doubts, i am confused
