    Aftermarket crank pulley issues

Does anyone of you people have aftermarket crank pulley fitted?
I bought one for my ABY once I read how the old OEM ones have
cracked pulleys. I was looking for a more rigid pulley to make
sure it takes the crank bolt 450nm torque. I have the Tommi's
Billet pulley now. However when fitted the pulley and timing belt
I had hard time to make belt teeth to fit nicely from pulley
to the waterpump and finally to the cam pulley. It was roughly
1/2 teeth off. If left the belt loose the timing was off. Of course
the solution would be adjustable cam pulley but don't have it so far.

Of course I thought at first that I messed it all up. But when I took
the aftermarket pulley off and compared it to the OEM one, the have
slightly different tooth desing. To make sure that the new pulley was
causing my issue, I fitted the old pulley back and did another test fit.
Luckily my old pulley was fine (at least with a visual inspection). Quess
what? PERFECT FIT! So my question is, does anyone ever had issues w/aftermarket
    pulleys?

I also noticed two spacers between the pulley and crank. According to this
there shouldn't be any. When I did my test fit, I noticed that the lower belt
cover touches the vibration damper/v-belt pulleys. The cover should be fine. My
question is if there is any harm fitting a spacer or two between the crank and
the vib damper? I can't figure another way to solve the issue.

Terve! Yes, it's known that Tommis crank pulley is a little bit off. No problem to them who has adjustable cam gears, but some trouble for them who have stock setups. There is no problem using the stock pulley if you have a proper locking tool when torqued down(need to lock the damper not the crank).

I assume you have an AAN engine? There is two types of AAN dampers, old style without washer/spacer and new style with the washer. And if you don't use the washer the damper will hit the cover just like you notised.

Aah, you told it in your first comment, didn't register it... About ABY damper I don't know.

Edit. I think the ABY damper also needs the washer. It's some diamond coated special washer. http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showpos...7&postcount=20

Tommi's pulley has timing issue if you have stock cam pulley. Solvable if you have adjustable one. I think the terrybullwon ones have no issues, they are sold on the parts for sale/trade section on this forum I think.

You can propably sell it quite easy, as it's not a problem if using adjustable gears.

Good business by Tommi - you buy pulley and then realize that you have to buy from him adjustable cam gear to use that pulley

But then naturally comes next question: is this cam gear has no issues
