    UrS6 - A 1.9bar Wastegate Spring ?

I was thinking that we hadn't had a "What size turbo should I fit to get xxx hp?" thread for a while.

So I don't want to fit a quick spool valve to my fried UrS6, but I was wondering if I fitted a 1.9bar spring to the wastegate, what other mods would I have to make ?

What will happen if I do nothing except fit the spring ?

What I'd like to achive is earlier boost, not necessarily higher boost.

I know this might have been covered before, but it always good to revisit various subjects to allow the answers to be based on up to the minute thinking / experience.

    Looking to learn more.

    Thanks for any feedback.

    URs6 1.9 bar wastegate spring

A very legit question that I have always wanted to ask what if I fitted a bigger turbo that I am looking to attain a max 27 lb of boost top end? Still can use the 1.9 bar spring?

I've used stronger springs with various software because I like the feeling of faster spool with small throttle movements, it makes the car feel more lively.
Really you should remap for the spring because actual boost will be higher than requested. The ECU can compensate to a certain extent but if it goes too far you may get a boost cut or over boost codes. With a stock S2 or AAN this is likely. With upgraded sw or RS2 spec you might be ok. I'm running a 1.9 in the avant with RS2 spec and sw. The WG screw is wound out a bit.

With a bigger turbo you will need to reduce boost, run an aftermarket boost controller or preferably remap properly

On my RS2'd AAN-powered UrS4, I have 1.9 Bar WG spring. I had to turn the WG spring adjustment spring perch UP from the OE stock position in order to have the 1.9 WG spring not cause issues (previously described). No other software, etc. changes. (MRC Stage 3)

Good to know. I should have the big blower installed by the end of the summer. Will be on the lookout for 1.9b spring.

Thank you neighbor for your suggestion and will do so. Now is waiting for the new MAP/MAFless SW from Prj for our AAN.
