The other thing is my injectors could be clogged a bit. I thought I read that they could be cleaned. I tested them according to the Bentley and they were all ok. But they could still be partially plugged... and new ones are way too much.

Maybe it's time for the 02 sensor/s to be replaced, i remember reading a while ago now that audi reckon on 60kmiles is about it, i wouldn't mess around with generic ones buy bosch or oem.

Could be cats collapsing or silencers blocking causing back pressure? worth a try. Did an Zetec last week that had cat gone and wouldn't run due to too much back pressure. Worth a try.

A6 Avant Tdi 110 because as the fuel prices keep going up I am so happy to be getting 649.8 miles to a tank of diesel!! (£50)

The rattle is another issue I think. 12 valve engines have total of 4 oil pressure valves that need replacing sooner or later.

I'm no 12v expert so don't know more. I have just read about this several times.

My brother's 80q had similar issues. Two new lambda probes sorted it. Also both of the headgaskets had failed - quite common on the early 12v. Have a look at http://www.12v.org/

I replaced the coil-packs today and it runs a lot better. The car still drops a little RPM's at idle... I was thinking this could be because my sub amplifier draws a lot of power or it could still be something else but at least it drives good now.
