k scrap the fuel pressure reg, (i speak bolx),it is an, im assuming the rs2 fuel pump would be suitable? The intercooler was chosen with info from a thread on here started by sal, and the size quoted which would fit was 24x12x3.

FPR - a 4bar from an AAN (golf VR6s as well) or an RS2 FPR will do - 3.8 Bar.

Well - some of the rs2 guys change to the motorsport pump it is safer to do this.

Nice project!! , I will watch it closely because I was thinking of the same conversion, only with the normal rs2 intercooler. Will you gain a lot with a bigger intercooler. Do you still use the normall inlett manifold?

What kind of airfilter do you have in mind?

You're saying that ABY and AAN use different fuel pressures? New one to me. I thought the injectors are the same, fuel pressure is the same and software is about the same...

The only reason im not using an rs2 intercooler is cost and availabilty to be honest. The custom one ive ordered works out way cheaper even including modding the crossmember. Im hoping i can use the original IM and if need be adapt the pipework to suit. Currenlty looking through old threads to see how other with the sam Intercooler have done it, Doug, Tom etc
Currently ive got 2 90 deg samcos and a huuuge K+N filter as my induction it with a home made heatshield, but this will soon to be changed for a Dahlback kit, ill probably keep th K+N thatcomes with that for the time being, but change to the apexi one as and when one crops up

Have you thought about a seperate wastegate pipe?, or will this not be necessary?

You don't have to change to the bearing, it's for peace of mind, Gavs head gasket has gone and all new gasket are metal.

Don't need a seperate wastegate pipe, that only for those who like it noisy!!

Gav when you get your new exhaust make sure they locate the wastepipe outlet further down the exhaust to elimate gas interference.

@ericb- cost is the main factor to be honest mate, theres lots of gucci kit id love to get but i need to be practical with my budget. I think i mightve souced an rs2 d/pipe so ill be using that to begin with mated to a 3" system, then will see about getting matching d/pipe at a later date.
