19-22mpg as a daily, averaging 275 miles on most of a tank of Optimax (approx 50l). <18 as a toy but don't really care now. Managed 24mpg on a 500 mile round trip to Sheffield two weeks ago and was well chuffed! (It's the small things!) It was getting bad as a daily and so now I'm running another car purely on my fuel savings! I think I'd be bankrupt if I was running the S2 every day. Basically, if you want/need economy then an S2 is not the way forward.

@ S2 Ant. Glad to hear that more power = better economy, I'd better start saving for that fuel economy mod! The remap will have improved the efficeincey of the map and so it uses less petrol to go the same speed... or the wind was with you on the way home!

Just driven to Whitby and back from Bedfordshire, according to the MFC display I got 26.7mpg, I did 418 on the tank and it took 66l to fill it which if you run that through a calculstor comes out 28.7mpg.

So considering I was cruising on the motorway at 75-80, had some "fun" going across the moors and was stationary in traffic jams with the engine and AC running for a total of about 1.5 hrs I reckon is pretty good

I think there is something wrong with my car, i got an 27 mpg average to Hull and back but could only do around 320 miles before needing more fuel.

        Any suggestions?

it might be that your fuel sender isnt quite right and you have more jungle juice left than you think. On a run i can get 27mpg on mine doing 75-80

Regularly see over 30mpg...I still use the S2 for business and pattering along at 70ish on motorways is it's usual work... Get the lead foot out and 17mpg's more the ticket. So I don't think you've got too many issues.

I get about 21mpg as a tankfull average if I am driving sensibly, but dips to about 17.5 if I play around a bit.

I also had some fun with the fuel guage Jamo, it was at the 1/4 left point and then stopped. After a few minutes I checked again and it was at the totally empty point. Gav suggested that it may have been mis-calibrated at some point, so I think I will be sorting that out soon...

And as for the miles remaining readout... how random is that!

It might not be a 5 pot or an S2... but at least I have a 20v Turbo in my life again.

Just over 33mpg out of my urS4 this morning on the run down the M56 & M6 to work. Varied between 60 and 80mph with a few 'squirts' past slower traffic on A roads.

Seems to have improved by 3-4 mpg since I had my gearbox oil changed!
