I fitted my gauge a couple of months ago, but it's taken this long to get it right
It originally came with a chrome bezel, which looked out of place in the car, and also had just a normal bulb for illumination which made the gauge light up white in the dark.
This looked way out of place and was also quite distracting whilst driving.
Solution was to spray the bezel mat black to match the 3 lower gauges.
Next was to work out how to get it to light up red/orange instead of white. I tried using a normal red LED instead of the bulb but it was way to dim to be of any use. I also tried using a superbright red LED and again is was just a little too dim (like me
). Then I tried painting the original bulb with a thinned down red paint, but again it was way too dull.
Finally spotted an extreme bright 4 x LED wedge type bulb (sidelight fitting) on fleabay. This works a treat
The gauge now lights up red/orange in the dark.
I'm happy now, yes I know
this all sounds a bit ****, but I like things to be right
The gauge is made by Sunpro (part of the snapon group in the US) and was bought off ebay, It reads in PSI but I ain't to bothered about that.
(hard to see in the pics as it was taken in the dark, but the needle is red, matches the others quite well)
As the saying goes, "Simple things please small minds"

And lit up at night
