window tints- yes or no?

Cant decide if i should tint the rear windows on my RS2.
I'm thinking of getting it done (professionaly) from the rear doors back, a light privacy tint. The car is polar silver so should look nice, but i don't want to knock £££'s off the value come resale as the car is otherwise original.
What do you think?

i think it will look nice, i plan on having a slight tint on all my glass on my Coupe.
Nothing OTT or boyracer, just something to take the edge off the sun and just to make it that lil bit harder to see in when parked up.

I agree, there was a silver RS2 on ebay a while back with really dark tints and looked like a pimp wagon (imo). Slight tint ALL round looks fine, but keep it light (if you know what I mean)

I will never own a car without tinted windows. It is just too got, for the sun, for the lights at night, for the ****** thives... Tinted legally max on all windows. I dont care if it looks pimp.

Ive had tints before, that film was also a security film, so its very hard to put the window thru!

Its more than just a look guys, before you all just tar it with the word chav, its far from chav unless its something stupid like limo black!!!

I am not wishing to offend anyone, and nicely done tints look okay, but generally I am not a fan. (The windows are *slightly* tinited as standard anyway! )

I don't like tinting, that's an opinion - too many boy racers have it...

...but it looks wrong with the legal aspect of the door glass and front screen being clear or standard in the UK anyway.

It might be different in Slovenia? Maybe you can have all round tinting there Skull?

No offense mate (particularly as that is my fav colour), but if your side windows are tinted then the answers must be: -

If average Joe Public walking along the street sees tints on anything but a stretched limo, he thinks to himself 'the owner of that car is 18 and wears his cap backwards'. he then hurries off in case the said youth comes back and harrasses him. Whilst it is a cliche and a generalisation, that is what average Joe thinks in the UK and we should never let him think that of an Audi.....a Clio yes, but not an Audi.

It doesn't matter how professional the job or how cheap from Halfords, the effect is the same. They look out of place, therefore like an 18yr old boy racer special. My office is opposite a college and every other car in the car park has tinted windows to hide the acne-ridden face of the driver, spinners and an exhaust like main sewer.

The same goes for spinners, whale tails, neon lights, blue LED's in the washer jets and driving with your fog lights on all the time....don't do it or you'll get laughed at.

I totally dissagree.

I would agree if it was full limo tints, but just a shade darker than original is fine. Lots of high class motors come factory tinted.

v dark tints on a white/silver car is a bad idea, but very light on a dark colourd car makes it match.

If you look at my s2 and think its a chav car u need ur head testing. infact get a jag or a volvo.
