Nice, I like it.
window tints- yes or no?

@ Skull: On the ricer/racer issue, tints do nothing to enhance performance, the turbocharged engine does, hence it is not something I will be rid of in a hurry! Big brakes are a performance enhancement, hence I will be running with bigger brakes.
@ Ski: Big alloy wheels can indeed be a bit chav, but as we tend to fit them for the primary reason of allowing larger brake installation, they are a legitimate performance modification. As for the pink S2, I'd say it's the strange wing thing on the back and the colour as much as anything that makes it chav - not the mirrors!!! I would tend to agree with you, the mirrors (and yes I have an RS2 bumper as well) are cosmetic - but they are also factory bits that fit a family related car, unlike the strange (non-functioning) rear wing.
I've been working in this racing car lark for a while now, I've never seen tinted windows make a car go faster! The only instance I can think of where tints are used for genuine motorsport applications, are the silvered/tinted windows used by rally cars in very hot/sunny climates - and even they have to leave a bit of the window clear for a proper view of the external mirrors.
It is just an opinion though, I certainly don't intend to tell people how to live their lives, much less what they should or shouldn't do to their cars!

Come on man! Most of the modifications we do to our cars are mostly cosmetic! You won't tell me fitting a shed load of ICE to your car enhances performance, if anything, it slows it down.
As for fitting larger wheels, yes, it does allow the fittment of larger brakes, but most of the cars on here had much bigger wheels before big brakes were even an issue!
As you say, it's all down to personal taste. Not quite long ago, it would have been deemed "Chav" to get the loudest dump valve on your car, but most on here are as loud as they can possibly be!
If any member here could be told they would have the same performance from their diverter valves, Forge / Baileys etc, but they would be as quiet as the stock ones, I doubt that would be acceptable, if anything, most people try to make them as audible as possible, cue the seperate wastegate pipe.

Time to join in the debate.
I'll be getting my rear doors, quarters and rear screen tinted in the near future. My reasons are mainly slightly cooler interior in the summer and to stop people seeing what I've got in the back. I'm not going for more than 35% tint as it's about the same as Audi uses on their newer models.
Personally I don't think it is chav to tint the glass. I must admit that limo tints all round are not to my tastes but I can't see the big problem with matching what is already available on many luxury production cars.

I have never regretted getting mine done and I think it looks great; but I would say that.Originally posted by darreniCant decide if i should tint the rear windows on my RS2.
I'm thinking of getting it done (professionaly) from the rear doors back.......What do you think?
Although I think it would look a little strange if it was only done from the rear doors back.
Go for something not too dark or to really throw the cat amoungst the pigeons go for a mirrored tint.
Try this lot, they are very good: http://www.pentagonglasstech.com/

@ Delta - I only have head unit and amp, and the ones in the car now were replacements for stolen items already fitted when I bought the car! Seriously wouldn't buy them if I didn't have them already. I really don't have any interest in cosmetic mods, and you need to have the big wheels before the big brakes, not the other way around! Remember I am one of the guys who advocates grooved discs and not drilled, that's the performance first and looks second option.
Seeing AAH!'s car shows that it can look most acceptable, but it really is a taste thing.

Keeper: look at the usefulness of the tinted windows. you find grooved discs and bigger turbos usefull? well i find usefull having all the windows tinted, like i already posted, because of the lower temps in the car on the sun, passive car secourity (very important for me), much lower "blinding" from other cars lights at night, and + looks good FOR MY TASTE.Audi Quattro WRComment

Hey, no problem Skull and Delta! Like I said, it's not up to me to tell anyone else how to have their S2/RS2, it really is personal choice (that was what I meant about taste, I wasn't inferring "bad" taste).
I agree with OOOO that it has to be the same all round, which is why I think most UK cars would be unaltered. I think dark tints on the front windows are an MoT fail unless you know a very friendly testing station.
