    Water ingress

All the rain at the weekend has left two soaking wet patches on the carpet - drivers side front & drivers side rear. I have heard this could be something to do with the sunroof drain tubes, either blocked, disconnected or split. Has anybody else suffered similar water ingress problems ? Any other ideas or ways of confirming if it is the sunroof drain tubes ?

My car had this with it's last owner. The thing to do is to push some cable down the drain holes from the sunroof, should come out somewhere around the bottom of the door I think.

God knows how you tell if they have a split in them (as mine did) apparently it took ages to work vout it was the drain tubes on mine as it was complete trial and error.

    Good luck m8

Also check to make sure your scuttle panel drains are not blocked below windscreen and that your fuse box is secure.

Push a length of wire, 1.5 sq mm single core will do, down the sunroof drain, it'll pop out just near the top door hinge (door open..)

Check also the fit of the window to the rubber seal, apparently its possible to adjust the window to push harder on the seal (I haven't tried this) or fit a new seal if it's worn.

Yes. There are two at the front, two at the rear. AFAIK the front ones run inside the A-pillar and exit near the door hinge. The rear ones run down the C-pillar, and i think they exit above the rear lights.
Pour water down each of the four drains, that will show you where they exit.

                  cheers Stu,

I thought the front ones came out at the door hinge, but couldn't really see the 2 at the back , I'm guessing if you think the front ones are screwed you take off the pillar trim for a look, need to check the guys car again to find those rear drainholes though,

anybody any drwaing or pics ???

If you guys search under "rain" in the forums there's a long discussion about this...seems not to be a new problem... I have had the same over the past few weeks, and now have a garage full of soggy carpet and am due a trip to Maplin to get a grommet for the bonnet release HOLE .
