    Windscreen Trim Question

Around the bottom of the windscreen there's two pieces of trim, kind if clipped together in the middle. The windscreen wiper spindles/axles/whatever-you-want-to-call-them stick through holes in this trim. In each half there are two screwdriver-rotated-clippy-things (it's too late in the day for technical type descriptions) which hold them in place. The passenger side (assuming Right Hand Drive) covers over the pollen filter (I believe) etc and sat under the other side is the fuse/relay box. There's a little rubber flap which appears to be part of the windscreen seal which just covers the top of these trim bits.

Question: Those two bits of trim, should they sealed down (underneath) with anything?

    Cheers,

    Ck.

Mine don't but that's not to say they shouldn't seal! I suspect they are there for aerodynamics and to avoid leaves etc going where they shouldn't rather than being totally sealed, but I am prepared to be proven wrong....

I had to pull them up when changing the engine to remove a couple of bits. The drivers side one was not seled down but the passengers side one appeared to have a silicone like sealant on it. Wether that was done by the previous owner or has been like it from new I dont know.

mine on my CQ20 V 1990 were held down with non setting mastic. That may be the best idea.
