My rear bumper is quite tatty so its going to be resprayed, my car is perl white and the guy that is going to caryy out the work, mainly does porsches, ferriaris etc. The main worry is that the perl will not match. As the car would have aged over 15 years? As any one had any experience???
I think you will be okay on the rear bumper as none of the curves or surfaces that line up with others, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Sounds like your body man is good too!
Good luck

Be interested in your results as my front bumper could do with a respray due to a couple of marks and the fact that its a slightly different colour to the bonnet. have to look hard to see it but its one of those little things that annoys the hell out of me LOL
I thought is was posible to age match a paint with a UV light - at least we managed to do this with plastics when I used to work for salomon and replaced a single ski or boot and matched them colour-wise - worked quickly and easily

I have just been talking to a mate about getting my front bumper repainted. How much do u think i would be looking at? They should be able to blend it in with the bodywork thats what i was told anyway.
3'' Longlife Exhaust, Koni Adjustables, H&R Springs, Full RS2 Setup with Mr Nugents RS2 Chips (just need the RS2 Airbox)

all depends on the colour, pearls are a painters nightmare, silver is another bad one, along with red, my spray man charges bout £80 to paint a bumper

The best way to go about this (from experience!!) is to get the paint matched professionally first off by a good paint/body shop....
Then get the rear sprayed bya good bodyshop...
Then ship the car off to a PROFESSIONAL valeter to be "tcut" (with special farecla or similiar compound) and then polished using all the right materials and equipment....((unless your very proficient at detailing and valeting)
This will bring your old paint up to match teh new and has priveded a seamless match for me in similiar situations....
any half decent painter/paint shop should cut back the surrounding paintwork at least so as the fresh paint doesnt stand out like a sore thumb, pearls can be a nightmare,as there is no accurate way to gauge how much pearl has been applied on the other panels..

If your guy is any good he will get the match as close as it can be. You can also flick the colour into the surrounding panels which involves prepping the panels then flicking the base coat into the ajoining edges then laquering the whole panel. That way if there is a slight difference you wont see it, but it does make it more expensive!
