    Bumper

Wondering if anyone has a diagram of how the front bumper on aby coupe is fixed on and if anyone knows what could cause the bumper to sit too low?

Have you check that the 4 bolts in the wheel well area are all connected?

If one of these has broken then the bumper will drop on that side.

Check the center support piece as well as what Jamo suggested.

If the piece is broken or the screws missing or sheared you wil get what you are seeing.

yup that would justify why one side is lower then the other. however the bumper seems to sit low in the middle too which is puzzling.

Will be taking it off this weekend just trying to get an idea of what work will be needed.

          take fogs/indicators out

two bolts on each side behind where the fogs go, 13mm IIRC

          loosen these off,

get a freind to hold the bumper in the right position as the mounting brackets have slots on them therfore have some adjustment

          nip up the bolts again

          fogs/indicators back in

          job done

If the under arch mountings have gone and its sagging...

What I did was to drill three even holes through the bumper plastic and inner arch mounting plastic area in line with the original holes but at even heights down the inner arch.... ENSURE someone is holding the bumper up in the correct position so there is no sag and the holes are drilled for the right position..

Then get some decent round head self tapping screws with washers to suit them and get them screwed in while the bumper is in the correct position.

JOB DONE AND NO MORE BUMPER SAG

ooo greate idea, was just thinking how i will tackle it.

i just need self tapping screws now. no local hardware store and dont think halfords sell screws like that.

Its always the simple things that are hard to get hold of

Soak the bolts in WD40 overnight before you tackle the job, you can squirt up behind the plastic to get to the threads of the screws in the wheel arch.

Well, just thought Id update you lot, its only fair, without this community i would not have tackled the job.

So i got myself some samco vaccumes, cant remember ~£250 or something...

then clips. ~£130 (for some left over(and got ripped off price wise))

then needed a tool kit, axel stands and a family member to supply me with cofee through out. ~£200

Took my time (im no good at mechanics, but love to do it) and inspected everything along the way and did things properly (took me around 10 hours)

Changed hoses, cleaned and jet-sprayed bottom from end, and took Wab's and s2Dudes advice and mounted my bumper properly. And offcourse, the samco in-house install instruction came a treat.

Everything worked out perfectly, not often it happens to me and my car.

Here is a picture of the oil cooler before i cleaned it. What you lot recon, get another 210k out of it?
