when removing the glass, should the seal stay on the glass or the headlight?

Headlight, if it's sticking to the glass it may be starting to crumble up.

good, i just used a small screwdriver and separated it. no crumbling, but i suppose after 15 years together, they've got friendly and dont like to be separated!

This is an old thread but I suppose its relevant !
Has anyone got the part number for the headlight seals ?
I am assuming it will be the same for non ellipsoids too ?
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2
