Before I give up on my glass sunroof and look into the full switch to metal, please anyone let me know if you have a glass panel (with metal backing) in decent shape available to purchase! Thanks

Good afternoon, a while ago, driving on the highway at high speed, my glass roof said goodbye, unfortunately the frame, which was rotten but apparently quite decent, has bent. I am considering the possibility, given the urgency now, to put a metallic one temporarily, someone could tell me if I could put it? to be able to cover the gap. Can someone confirm if I can put the metal in the place of the glass? Thank you.

Hi - you may want to consider a permanent replacement with a metal sunroof. From my experience the glass roofs are no longer available new from Audi and if you find a used one it is more than likely suffering from some rot. The metal roofs run on a different mechanism so you won’t be able to fix a metal panel onto your existing mechanism. I did the full switch last year so let me know if you need any info.

Mine is completely shut and the mechanism won't work anymore. Need a full transplant to metal as well at some point so I feel your pain.

I keep investigating and I have discovered that they are not the same for Avant / sedan as for coupe, among the B4 coupes the glass and steel top are compatible, but among the rest they are not, at least that is what I see in ETKA, despite any help is appreciated.
