    Are you taking Southam Bodies?

I think that's a place i would try, i've heard good reviews and unless i'm wrong price is reasonable.

That is Greg Howells place. Well known on the VAG scene for his work.

Yes that's was the place. Went to a place called RVR near me on sat, very impressive place. Purely classic restorations from etypes, db4, to bmws etc. Waiting on the quote now but promising! Amazing quality of work.

That's who MRC used to send any cars needing paint to, so they must be pretty good, not sure if thst's still the case.

The guy that did mine was just a rub back I think. He removed and redid any previous repairs.

Just been to see Greg - he doesn't come cheap. Wouldn't touch it for less than £10k +VAT! You definitely pay for what you get, but that's quite a bit higher than other quotes I've had. Time to ponder..

It will be interesting to see how much better his work is compared to a cheaper place, if at all. How long has he said he’ll need the car for?

The work I've seen at some of the places I've been we're flawless, and come in 6k cheaper. That's back to bare metal too. He's flat out with work, but mainly saw porsches. If you have an 80k car, 10k isn't bad for a respray. If it's worth 15k when mint, it's not.

If he's flat out he's doin somat right but like ya say not worth spending that much on car that's only ever gonna be worth 15k max. Getting mine done hopefully this year and looking from about £2-3k max

Depends what you want to do, rub back and paint is 4 to 5k but there's some reports of the paint not working to well on top of original, but that might be paintshop error. Back to bare metal I've found to be 6.5 to 7k. It's a fair bit of work! I'm sure theres cheaper places or a mate of a mate.
