Why not just realise, like Audi did, that the only car to fit with such performance parts is the avant..
Err, dream on sunshine, we all know that Audi weren't allowed to tune the S2 Coupe with Porsche parts, as Porsche realised that an RS2 Coupe would kill all of the sales of their own cars, so you're clutching at straws with that one

Be a man and face it, you drive a hearse. Stand tall and proud (well lay down in a box in the back actually) and about your Necrophila fetishes. As Eminem said in 8-mile (on TV last night) 'I AM white trash, I DO live in a trailer with my mum and i DO drive a hearse'

Yup, freely admit to those too, I was just remarking that not all upgrades come from an RS2.

It's funny that Avant owners laugh at Coupes with RS2 goodies on, which is a reasonable upgrade afterall: add more power to a svelt Coupe, when Avant owners also do the same, when what they are making already exists.

I can imagine the devil and angel on the shoulders: the conversation must go something like this.......

Devil: Buy an S2 Avant for 6K then add 4K of RS2 power toys and Bob's your horny uncle
Angel: Err But there's an RS2 for sale for 10K here
Devil: yeah yeah, but we can tune the Avant to nearly 400 BHP with RS2 goodies
Angel: err, but a chipped RS2 makes nearly that
Devil: yeah yeah, but we can build what we want
Angel: Err, OK, but you're bulding an RS2, you're even putting the RS2 body panels and mirrors on it
Devil: But it will be the ultimate sleeper
Angel: so why put the RS2 badges on it?
Devil: cos we're putting BIG power in it...gotta show the pedigree
          Angel: Err OK, sleeper eh?
Devil: Yeah yeah, sleeper, pratical, faster than an RS2, let alone a wimpy Coupe
Angel: As fast in fact as a chipped RS2...so how much will it be worth?
Devil: Well, about 7K, but at least I can seel most of the extras if I need
          Angel: You're a looney
Devil: MORE POWER...muhahaha...Oh oh, look, and RS2 front bumper on eBay...OH OH and he's selling the rear bumper too....oh baby, finally found a set of RS2 clocks, now I just need the RS2 roof spoiler and I have the set....oh I think I soiled myself
          Angel: I give up!

Your deities are clearly out of touch, buy an Avant for 6k already with all RS2 goodies on it making more power than a chipped RS2 and sell the unsuspecting Coupe owners all your old parts

Fair cop matey, but as I said, my sig doesn't exactly hide the parts and Audi never made an RS2 Coupe due to the Porsche veto.

So tell me, just how much power is that beast of yours making...much more than a chipped RS2? Or slightly less that a Ford Fiesta

Ask me in a week or two 318 with a holed intercooler, boost leak, dodgy thermostat, air lock, no lambda control and no MAP sensor isn't a bad start

well has anyone read the rs4 reivew in auto car .... ( have posted it before but hey)

says something like wow see one of these in blue and you will only think of one thing the rs2 the car that defined the fast estate and now gathering pace as a sought after classic...

followed on by the one that made me smile ..

fast audis have always looked better as estates .. since the 1994 rs2 ...

an i was all so wondering why some dealers used to charge more for the estate over the coupe .. i suppose its the old you get what you pay for.

@ blown_vr6 - Did you manage to get the part numbers in the end?

Somehow that question seems off topic now.

Very true, nice quote that...I like it. So, as long as we are talking about real RS2's in Noggie blue I guess that is a hard quote to beat, as long as all arguements are won and lost on the thoughts of a single motoring hack that is

BTW, what colour is your RS2?

We mate, the reason Audi charge more for estates is simple....old men have worked for longer, saved more cash, and more willing to spend it on a hearse. Coupes, being cooler, are more suitable to the younger man, with maybe a little less spending power, but a lot more style......get it?
