    Brackets under s2 avant

There are two 'u' shaped brackets under the front of my s2 avant, under the front of the front footwells, which I assume are mounting points for lifting the car on a ramp.
Does anyone else have the problem of these grounding out over speed bumps, the sort of yellow / black plastic variety mostly.
If I go at anything faster than a crawl over these, the car crashes down on these brackets with quite a force.
I don't know if my car is lowered at all, which might aggrevate the problem.
What would the standard ride height be for the car on stock 16" avus rims??

Standard (coupe) ride height (new) is 5''. The "brackets" are there to help protect the cats (!) - see your other post

Thats what they are there for, to stop the car being damage if it bottoms out.
