Why do you need a turbo timer?
All you have to do is drive off boost for the last few miles of a journey and the problem is solved?
All a timer does is allow your turbo to sit and wallow in the heat and get even hotter while the engine sits idling!
Total waste of time and money if you ask me

I tihink you should get that bumper off and fix your boost leak / wobbly intercooler before you find out that your bottom pulley has eaten a chunk out of the back of your intercooler like mine had when I first bought it.

Ditto, luckily mine hasnt eaten a hole into it, just a whopping big crescent. I have ordered 2 new engine mounts and gearbox mounts. Might make a new bump stop rubber aswell while i am in there, and replace my chattering turbo.
The cars are a challenge, but if life had no challenges you wouldn't learn anything.
For the bumper screws i had to put new nutserts into the wing tabs, one rusted off so i made another out of colourbond steel with a 15 yr guarantee not to rust. As a top tip every bolt you do get out smother it in antisieze-copper slip is ok but there is much better stuff available, then the next time you need to go in there it comes apart easily.
For the intercooler bolts, soak them with penetrating oil, and leave them overnight, if that doesnt work heat can be used but damages paintwork, rubbers etc so your best option then is to drill them out and buy a set of taps and a wrench to re-thread the hole. These cars are 11-17 years old, rust is inevitable, and it is a good sign that the car is a good one as it probably has never been apart before.

The intercooler isnt loose atall, just one of the bolts on the offside where there are two.
Its only had 2 or 3 turns so only moves about 2-3mm.

Peter (Acidburn) has very kindly offered to have a look at it for/with me next weekend, so hopefully some progress will be made then

As for the car being original, yes it was 100% un-modded when I got it, maybe I should of left it that way....

            Dest,

Bro, you're right... I know that before getting home I have just to drive off boost and low rpm to cool down everything. My car is not turbocharged, but When going to work there are some times that I'm hurried and I'd like to have the TurboTimer to allow it cool down the oil and turn off the engine... when going home or arriving to any place wherever the oil temp raises up after 75\80+ celsius degrees on the way I've done I always cool down at less than 2000rpm for one or two min...in that way after parking the car, just wait 10sec and turn off the engine. I was saying that about the turbo timer when the hurry light comes ON! hehehe

The other thing is that I don't know if my engine has the electric water pump,if it has... well... It'd be better LOL

But...ok though... I'll do what you said... I won't buy any turbo timer and I'll do that cooling down work hehehe

With the turbo timer its good in essence but because the s2 has the recerculating pump for the water it pumps that round when the engines off (IIRC) to cool the turbo if its hot. If you have a turbo timer when you park up and leave it with the engine running its still building up heat under the bonnet which would work agains the turbo timer.

If you have not got the pump it would be easy to fit, if you look behind the raditor it normally sits in the pipe work there and could be retro-fitted into yours quite easily if need be.

Acid but..hehe don't you have any photos of the electric w.pump??? I don get that what you said where sits the water pump... in my car... on the water pipe that comes from the engine to the radiator (hot water) there's only the pipe as I can see!

I will try get a picture of it (might be one in the forum) The piping would probably need to be modded/changed to let the pump in.

You don't really need a turbo timer on the S2 that's what the afterrun system is for built in by standard by Audi.

I have a turbo timer however built into my alarm system. Works a treat click one button car runs for 120 secs then shuts off

There is a bit more info about the after run, turbo cooling pump here http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articles/afterrun.htm

This should be the part no 034 965 561 c from what I read in another post. You would need the couple of bits of pipe that join up to it but if your doing the engine its worth while fitting it. I'm still waiting for a chance to get a good picture of mine, will post when I do.

I'm going up to give him a hand with it this weekend so hopefully be able to sort that and the intercooler (markh mod) and see if that sorts it.
