Does anyone know how to remove the mirror glass from the RS2 door mirrors. I've been poking around in the little hole thats on the underside with a screwdriver but I cant find anything that will release the glass from the mirror assembly .
Thats funny, as i have got to take my NS side mirror off as the motor has stopped movement to the left and right... I think if memory serves in them little holes underneath there is a cam with teeth. You have to work it one way and it just releases..... IIRC you may have to push the top part of the mirror in to the housing so the bottom part of the mirror sticks out slightly. If you look in the holes you should see the little teeth. It is a fiddly job.
I had to replace a bust one on my old coupe and they are a **** to get off, there is a set of about 6-8 little clips which clip onto the bezel which the motors operate, gawd knows how you would get them off without breaking them and at 45 quid for a glass it was an expensive f*ck up when i didnt have all the clips in place and my 3 day old mirror went whoosh at 70 on the motorway . In the end i got one of the blokes at Audi to clip it in place as the pressure you put on to expand all of the clips is scary i feared snapping the mirror.

P.s. what does IIRC mean?

As jubjub says there is a circular flange on the back of the mirror that needs to be rotated one way to unlock the mirror. You should be able to see that at the bottom of the mirror - as a small screwdriver can move it back and forward. It should pull out after that has been unlocked.
If you spray the circle shaped clip at the back of the mirror with silicon spray or even furniture polish it will clip on more easily and even may come off more easily as well
Finally got around to fitting the RS2 mirrors today, not to sure that they are much of an 'upgrade' as the view that they give is nowhere near as good as the standard ones.
